Classroom Management
• Classroom management is defined as the methods and
strategies a teacher/an educator uses to maintain a
classroom environment that is conducive to student
success and learning.
• Classroom management is a term used by teachers to
describe the process of ensuring that classroom lessons
run smoothly despite disruptive behaviour by students.
The term also implies the prevention of disruptive
behaviour
• Classroom management is the process by which teachers
and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of
students in classroom settings
Classroom management refers to the wide
variety of skills and techniques that teachers
use to keep students organized, orderly,
focused, attentive, on task, and academically
productive during a class.

Classroom management can be defined as


the actions teachers take to establish and
sustain an environment that fosters students’
academic achievement as well as their social,
emotional, and moral growth
Importance of classroom management
• Effective classroom management:

In addition to being highly knowledgeable in the subject matter, teachers also


need to know how to manage classroom dynamics effectively

 Establishes and sustains an orderly environment in the classroom.


 It  helps create  a conducive learning environment
 It helps avoid waste of time and energy/To manage time situationally
 Increases meaningful academic learning and facilitates social and emotional
growth.
 Decreases negative behaviors and increases time spent academically
engaged.
