Bicycle Frame It is the mechanical core of a bicycle. It provides
points of attachment for the various components
that make up the machine.

 • Steel : One of the oldest and most popular materials used to make
a Bicycle Frame. Steel Frames are strong and relatively
inexpensive, but heavier. It absorbs vibrations and does not let it to
be transferred to the rider.

why ?? • Aluminium Alloy Frames : Less dense compared to steel resulting

in lighter weight and a better strength to weight ratio. The most
popular alloys being used as frames are 6061 Aluminium Alloy and
7005 Aluminium Alloy. It has become the Material of Choice for
Hybrid Bicycles, MTBs and Road Bikes.

 • Carbon Fiber : Carbon Fiber Composite is a non-metallic material used
for Bicycle Frame manufacturing which has become the frame material
of choice for the professionals. Although expensive the frame is
lightweight, corrosion-resistant, strong and can be formed into almost
any shape desired. Carbon Fiber is the material of choice for all high-
end Road Bikes and MTBs.

the forks can noticeably affect the feel and handling of
the bicycle. Carbon fiber forks are popular in road
bicycles because they are light, and also because they
can be designed to lessen and absorb vibrations from
the road surface.
