LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Compare and contrast the similarities and
difference between and among media literacy,
information literacy, and technology literacy.
MEDIA
Refers to any physical object used to communicate
message. It means of communication and a form of
delivering information (e.g radio, television, laptop,
cellphone and newspaper.)
LITERACY
Isthe ability to identify, understand, interpret, create,
communicate, and compute, using printed and written
materials associated with varying contexts.
MEDIA + LITERACY
Is the ability to access,
analyze, evaluate, and create
media in a variety of forms.

ARE SENDING.
INFORMATION
covers process data, knowledge derived from study,
experience, instruction, signals, or symbol. It is the
message we share with other people when
communicating with them.
INFORMATION LITERACY
Is the ability to recognize when information is needed,
and to locate, evaluate, and effectively communicate
information in its various formats
EXAMPLE

To make it simple, information
literacy is the ability to identify,
locate and access appropriate
sources of information to meet the
information needed.
TECHNOLOGY LITERACY
Is the ability to recognize when information is needed,
and to locate, evaluate, and effectively communicate
information in its various formats.
Media and information literacy empowers
people to think critically about information
and use of digital tools. It helps people
make informed choices about how they
participate in peace building, equality,
freedom of expression, dialogue, access to
information, and sustainable development.
MEDIA LITERACY VS. INFORMATION LITERACY
VS. TECHNOLOGY LITERACY
Media literacy and information literacy require an individual
to think critically however media literacy focused on
identifying the appropriate media to use, create and
evaluate while information or message whether it is
important or not. Technology literacy, on the other hand
refers to the ability of an individual to responsibly,
appropriately, and effectively use technological tools.
