content: Growth mindset
Let's start the
lesson!
A GROWTH MINDSET
How do you process failure, challenges, and bumps in
the road? Does it feel like the end of the world, or does it
inspire you to rise to the challenge?
Believe in your ability to improve through effort, learning,
persistence, and support. Approach each experience with a sense of
curiosity: 'What can I learn from this?' When you view obstacles as
opportunities to grow, you are embodying a 'growth mindset'.
Assess your mindset by asking yourself these
questions:
How do you approach challenges and setbacks – as
1
opportunities for growth or as roadblocks?
Do you believe in the potential to develop your abilities and
2
intelligence through effort and learning?
A FIXED MINDSET
This approach is the opposite of a growth mindset. It
refers to a way of looking at life where people view
qualities as fixed traits that cannot change.
A person with a fixed mindset believes that they are either
good or bad at something based on some inherent nature,
which ultimately results in them avoiding challenges,
giving up easily and ignoring useful negative feedback.

Two mindsets
The mindset you choose can lead you down two distinct paths. As you can

your full potential and reach higher levels of achievement

SETBACKS!
Whether it's failing a test or letting someone down –
what should we do when faced with a setback?
Try to embrace setbacks as opportunities for growth, knowing
that rejection and failure do not define you.
THE POWER OF YET
Is it that you haven't mastered a skill, or haven't
mastered a skill YET?
The “yet” and “not yet” trick is a great way to reframe a situation and
remind yourself positive results are a product of continued dedication
and grit.
IT'S A PROCESS
Most of us are raised being praised for the outcomes we
produce rather than the process we took to get there.
It is natural that a lot of us have fixed mindsets in certain areas, especially
when it comes to school and grades.
The key is to change how we give
compliments – to motivate not only others
but also ourselves.
We should reward work ethic, effort, and perseverance,
not just the outcome.
TOP TIP
Having a growth mindset is the key
to success. Believe in your potential
to grow and improve, and watch
your accomplishments soar!
