It used in English for situations that were improbable or that expressed a wish.
• God save the Queen!
• God bless you!
• God help us!
The Subjunctive is used to emphasize urgency or importance. It is used after certain
expressions.
Examples:
• I suggest that he study.
• Is it essential that we be there?
• Don recommended that you join the committee.

The subjunctive
Here’s an example of the subjunctive mood in action:
• It is recommended that she prepare a short speech before
the ceremony.
• It is important that she agree to these terms.
• It was suggested that he wait until the next morning.
• It is important she attend the meeting.
• It is recommended that he take a gallon of water with him
• The boss insisted that Sam not be at the meeting.
• It is recommended that She be on time.
Exercise
Rewrite the next sentences by using the subjunctive form. Connect the two
sentences with that.

I insisted on Jane joining our team
