TORAH PARSHAH:
1. At Mount Sinai
V1 (this was at the third month after the Israelites
left Egypt that they came to the Desert of Sinai)
V2 ISRAEL CAMPED (there in the desert in front
of the mountain)
V3 Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to
him from the mountain to say to the house of
Jacob (Israel),
v4 “You yourselves have seen what I did to
Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings
and brought you to myself.
v5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my
covenant, then out of all you will be my treasured
possession. Although the whole earth is Mine
v6 you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and
a holy nation.
Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people
and set before them all the words the Lord had
commanded him to speak, v7
• The people responded together, “We will
do everything the Lord has said.”
• Moses brought their answer back to the
Lord.
• The Lord said to Moses, “I am going to
come to you in a dense cloud, so that the
people will hear me speaking with you
and will always put their trust in you.”
• Then Moses told the Lord the people’s
response.
• And the Lord said, “Go to the people and
consecrate them today and tomorrow.
Have them wash their clothes and be
ready by the third day
V12 God puts limits to the people around the mountain
• No one goes up the mountain nor touch
the foot of the mountain.
• Whoever touch the mountain shall surely
be put to death.
• He shall surely be stoned or shot with
arrows; not a hand is to be laid on him.
• Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long
blast may they go up to the mountain.
V16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder and
lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very
loud trumpet blast.
• Everyone trembled in the camp.
• Moses led the people out of the camp to
meet with God.
• They stood at the foot of the mountain.
• Mt Sinai was covered with smoke, because
the Lord descended on it in fire.
• The smoke billowed up from it like smoke
in a furnace,
• The whole mountain trembled violently,
• The sound of the trumpet grew louder and
louder.
• Then Moses spoke and the Lord answered
The Lord descended to the top of the mountain and called
Moses to the top of the mountain, v20-25
• Moses was told by the Lord,
• “Go down & warn the people so they
do not force their way through to see
the Lord and many of them perish.
Even priests. They must consecrate
themselves or the Lord will break out
against them”.
• “Go down and bring Aaron up with
you.”
• So Moses went down to tell the
people.
TORAH PARSHAH
2. Ten Commandments
AND GOD SPOKE TO MOSES THESE WORDS:
When the people saw the thunders and
lightning and saw the mountain in smoke,
they trembled with fear, and said to
Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will
listen. But do not have God speak to us or
we will die.”

FEAST OF WEEKS
HAFTARAH: Eze 1:1-28; 3:12
1. The Living Creatures & the Glory of the Lord.
• While Ezekiel was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the Heavens opened and
Ezekiel saw a vision on the 5th of the month, on the 15th year of King Jehoiachin,
• And the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel, the high Priest.
• V4 “I saw a windstorm coming out of the north-an immense cloud w/ flashing
lightning & surrounded by brilliant light.
• The center of fire looked like glowing metal,
• And in the fire was what looked like four living creatures.
• In appearance their form was that of a man,
• But ea. Of them had four faces and four wings.
• V7 Their legs were straight, their were like those of a calf and gleam like burnished
bronze. Under their wings on their on their 4 sides they had the hands of a man. All
4 had faces & wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did
Their faces looked like this:
This was the appearance of the likeness of
the glory of the Lord, v15-28
2. Ezekiels call, Ez 2:1-9
• “Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a
rebellious nation that has rebelled against me.
• They and their fathers-in revolt against me.
• They are obstinate and stubborn.
• Whether they listen or fail to listen—they will know
that aprophet has been among them.
• Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all
around you, anf live among scorpions.
• Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by
them.
• V8 But you son of man, listen….open your mouth and
eat what I give you.
• V9 I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll,
unrolled before me. On both sides-words of lament
And he said to me, Ez 3: 1-15
• “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll;
then go and speak to the House of Israel”. So I opened
my mouth, and gave me the scroll to eat, v2.
• “Son of man eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your
stomach with it.” So I ate , and it tasted as sweet as
hony in my mouth, v3
• “Now, go to the House of Israel and speak my words;
v5 You are not sent to a people of obscure
speech & difficult language.
v7 The house of Israel is not willing to listen to
you because they are not willing to listen to me.”
• But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they
are
• I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder
than flint”, v9
V10 And he said to me, 10-12
• “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the
words I speak to you.
• Go now to your country men in exile and speak to
them, whether they listen or fail to listen,
• Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a
loud rumbling sound-May the glory of the Lord be
praised in his dwelling place!, v12

THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES AT PENTECOST
V1 When Pentecost came, they were a;l
together in one place.
A sound like the blowing of a violent
wind came from heaven and filled the
whole house where they were sitting, v2.
They saw what seem to be tongues
of fire that separated and came to rest
on each of them.
V4 All were filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak in other tongues as the
Spirit enabled them.
V5 Now there were God fearing Jews in Jerusalem from other nations
• (Parthians, Medes, Elamites, residents of
Mesopotamia, Judea and Capadocia,
Pontus and Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt
parts of Libya near Cyrene, from Rome.
• They were bewildered , because each one
heard this sound them speaking in his own
language.
• Cretans and Arabs heard and were
declaring the wonders of God in their own
tongues!
• Some, however, made fun of them and
said, “They have too much wine.”
Peter stood the Crowd with the
Eleven, v14
• Peter addressed the crowd, telling them, “These men
are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the
morning! This is what was spoken by the Prophet Joel.
V17 In the last days, God says,
I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh,
Young men will see visions, and old men dream
dreams, even on my servants, both men and
women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days, they
will prophesy.
I will show wonders in the heaven above and
signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows
of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon
to blood before that great and glorious day of the
Lord shall come. And it shall be
V21 That everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall
3. Warning to Israel, Ez 3: 16-27
At the end of seven weeks, The Lord came to Ezekiel
• “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the House of Israel, so hear the
word and give them warning.
a) When I say to a wicked man, ‘you will surely die,’ & you don’t warn him or
dissuade him from his evil ways to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin,
and I will hold you accountable for his blood, v18.
b) But if you do warn him and does not turn from his wicked ways, he will die for
his sin; but you will have saved yourself, v19
c) When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a
stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for
his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you
accountable for his blood, v20.
d) But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will
surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself”, v21
