Brief Background
The eldest child of a Christian family Vujicic (pronounced 'Vooy-
cheech') was born in Brisbane, Australia with Tetra-amelia(also called
Phocam elia) Disease.
•He was limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, as well as
legless. His feet were toeless except for two toes on one foot.
•Originally prohibited by Victoria state law from attending a
mainstream school because of his physical disability, even though he
was not mentally impaired, Vujicic became one of the first disabled
students integrated into a mainstream school, once the laws changed.
He was born without limbs and doctors have no
medical explanation for this birth 'defect'.
He was faced with many challenges and obstacles.
Their firstborn son had been born without limbs! There
were no warnings or time to prepare themselves for it...
The doctors were shocked and had no answers at all!
There is still no medical reason why this had happened
and Nick now has a Brother and Sister who were born
just like any other baby.
His Childhood
•Throughout his childhood, Nick dealt not only
with the typical challenges of school and
adolescence such as bullying and self-esteem
issues; but also struggled with depression and
loneliness.
•According to Nick, the victory over his
struggles throughout his journey, as well as the
strength and passion he has for life can be
credited to his faith in God. His family, friends
and the many people he has encountered along
the way have also encouraged him.
•Bullied at school, Vujicic grew depressed and by the age of 8,
contemplated suicide. At age 10, he tried to drown himself in 4 inches
of water, but did not go through with it out of love for his parents
After Childhood
•After school, Nick went on with further study and obtained a double
Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Accounting and Financial Planning
from Griffith University in Logan, Australia.
•He Says,There’s a purpose for why you’re in the fire.
•Nick wholeheartedly believes that there is a purpose in each of the
struggles we each encounter in our lives, and that our attitude towards
those struggles, along with our faith and trust in the Lord can be the
keys to overcoming the challenges we face.

•Nick was given the wisdom
to understand that if we pray
for something, if it's God's
will, it'll happen in His time.
If it's not God's will for it to
happen, then He has
something better.
•Nick Vujicic had developed talks to relate to
and encourage students through topics that
challenge today's teenagers. He is also a speaker
in the corporate sector.
So What He has Nothing?
•He can do everything from brushing his teeth, combing his
hair, dressing up, taking care of my personal hygiene and even
shaving. He get around the house by jumping around.

Bethany got her arm bitten off by a shark when she was a teenager -
and was back on a surfboard within three weeks.
Water sports aren't Nick's only thing - he also plays golf with a club
tucked under his chin, and is a huge fan of the English Premier
League

him, but which may have been the best decision they could have
made for him
