Software these are programs or sets of instructions that
make hardware work. A computer can’t do anything on
its own. Instructions are input by the user, through
perhaps the keyboard or mouse and the software reacts
to these instructions.
An organized set of instructions or programs that are used to govern the
activities of hardware components or to carry out specific tasks.

Software ?
Software is categorized into two main categories; Operating system software
and application software.
An operating system is a set of programs that co-ordinate the activities among
computer’s hardware devices. They contain instructions that allow the user to run
application software.
Application software is the software that allows the user to carry out specific
tasks such as word processing, playing music and computer games etc.
