Background
Vocabulary is one of the crucial
R language aspects in learning
English. It is a group of words that
I used to interact orally as well as
verbally.
Based on the research observation at SMPN 5 Sigi, it is difficult for
students in developing their skills due to lack of understanding
related to the words spoken and spelling the word correctly.
To solve the students problem in leaning vocabulary, the
resercher will try to use short stories in term of fable as one of the
teaching media. By using fable stories, students can learn
vocabulary with more enjoy and not bored.

Fable Story
Fable story is often talk about animals or
plants who sometimes speak and act like
humas and tells a moral lesson. Fable
story are very good to use in learning,
because students will gain knowledge
and feel entertained during the lesson
Theoritical Framework
Vocabulary is the main thing that must be improved
in learning a language. If a person lacks of
vocabulary, it will be difficult to speak in, they will be
difficult to speak in, they will also be difficult to have
a conversation in English. To overcome this problem,
the researcher tries to using fable stories as a media
to improve students vocabulary mastery. By using
fable story, student will find many new vocabulary
word and help students spell word for word correctly.

4. Mean deviation and square deviation of the experimental class.
5. Mean deviation and square deviation of the control class
6. After getting the square deviation, the researcher analysis the data in order to know the significant
difference or testing hyphotesis by using t-count. The researcher use the following formula :
