What is SAP
 SAP stands for System Application and Products in data Processing
 Version: ECC6 ECC
 Stands for ERP Central Component
 SAP was released in 1972 – It headquarters in Germany
 SAP is an ERP system.
 ERP stands for Enterprise Resource planning. ERP term is used for software that
controls whole organizations different departments. it is integrated all functions in one
system.

Purchase Dept. Store Dept . Production Dept . Accounts Dept.
 Will have Number of departments in organization. ERP integrate all the functions into
one system.
 It will facilitate free flow of data among the departments.
SAP Business Suite Overview
 What is SAP Business Suite?
 SAP Business Suite is a software bundle. This helps in
integrating business functions, processes, and strategies.
Some of the fully integrated applications include –
 SAP customer relationship management (CRM)
 SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
 SAP product lifecycle management (PLM)
 SAP supplier relationship management (SRM)
 SAP supply chain management (SCM)
SAP Business Suite Bundle
 The SAP Business Suite is based on SAP ERP, also called ERP Central
Component (ECC).

ECC consists of the following functional modules –


 FI -Financial Accounting for handling financial transactions and operations
 CO- Controlling, for handling financial planning and accounting
 SD- Sales and Distribution, for tackling all the sales and distribution processes
 MM- Materials Management, which helps organizations to handle their materials
and inventory
 PD- Production Planning, which helps companies to handle their planning,
production, and related processes
 QM -Quality Management, which allows companies to implement quality control
processes. This ensures the quality of products and services
 Plant Maintenance, which monitors the company’s factories, heavy equipment,
and other,
 Project System, which assists in managing large-scale projects
 HCM- Human Capital Management, which manages HR process such as payroll
management

What are the different modules in
SAP
 As mentioned earlier, SAP is an ERP system that handles almost all
departments of an organization.

 SAP handles an organization’s Finance, Controlling Human Resource,


Sales, Distribution, Material management, Warehouse, Production,
Security, Research and many other departments. Not just that but SAP
has a special industry specific solutions for almost all industries such as
manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, insurance, security, finance, treasury
etc.

 SAP FICO, SD and HR are most important modules . FI and CO modules


controls finance and controlling respectively. SD controls sales and HR
controls Human Resource departments

 It will be client’s decision whether they want to buy all modules or some
specific modules based on their requirements.
What is the difference between
SAP Functional
Functional Consultant
and Technical SAP modules
 SAP is designed to provide a system for business processes,
so functional consultant are experts in their particular area
for business processors.
 A SAP HCM consultant would most likely come from that
background.
 MBA (HR) MBA (Finance) etc or working experience in
domain (HR, FI, Sales etc).
 SAP SD, SAP MM,SAP PP
SAP Technical Consultant
 Like most technical guys, they can write code. SAP has its
own development code called ABAP (Advanced Business
Application Programming), with this they can customize
certain areas of the SAP system to suit businesses individual
requirements.
What are difference between SAP HR/ SAP HCM
SAP EE 4.7 and ECC 6.0 ?

SAP HR and SAP HCM are two different names for the same module in the
SAP ERP system.
SAP HR: The original name of the module, which stands for Human
Resources
SAP HCM: The name of the module after version 5.0, which stands for
Human Capital Management
SAP EE 4.7 - Stands for Enterprise Edition.
No Netware concept (Offline) Only one currency.
Segment wise report is not possible.
SAP ECC 6.0 - Stands for Enterprise Central Compound.

 Before you log on to SAP you should have the following
icon on your desktop

 Click on this icon . The SAP system will load and the first
screen to appear will be the log on screen

 To log on to SAP , you will need user name and a password. The first time you log on you
will use a temporary password .you will than be required to enter anew password.

First Screen:

 In the implementation SAP

 • Company staff (Core Team Members)
 The consultant they do the customization in development client The company staff will do
the testing. The customization will be transferred to client through Transport Requests.

 In the production client you enter day to day transaction


System Landscape
 Development server is where we do the customization as
per the company’s requirement. once the business blueprint
gets signed off , the configuration is done in development
server and saved in workbench requests, to be transported
to quality /production server.
 Quality server is where the thorough testing is through
various test scenarios to make sure the customization is as
expected.
 Production server is where the actual/live data of the
company is recorded. This is the last /most refined client
where the user will work after project GO LIVE.
 Transport management system is the coordination of the
movement of objects and configuration changes from the
development system to the quality Assurance system and
then to the production system.
