• Heat exchanger and filter
Introduction
• Dyeing machine is used to dye materials like yarn, fabric and garments etc.
• The machines are manufactured by various brands.
Machine Brands
The machine brands are as followed:
• i-master (thies)
• Brazolli
• Sclavo
• Eco master
• Eco soft (sampling and shortfall)
• Then (for special fabrics)
• Minisoft
Tanks
The dyeing machine is fed by three types of tanks.
1. Stock Tank: It saves 10-12% of the process time by preparing and storing
the bath solution in advance before feeding to the main machine.A stirrer is
present which assist in mixing.
2. AT1 (Addition tank1) : Dosing of dyes takes place in [Link] some special
cases injection of chemicals also takes place here. Lawer system controls
the dispensing of dyes and chemicals, these are then fed to stock tank.A
stirrer is present which assists in mixing
3. AT2 (Addition tank 2) : Injections of chemicals takes place here and this
dispension is controlled by lawer system.
Fillings

• There are three main fillings:

1. Hot water : From hot water tank
2. Cold Water : from utilities
3. Raw/Recycle water : from recycle water tank
Drains

• There are 4 main drains:

1. Normal temperature drain(below 70 degree celcius):to ETP
2. High temperature drain(above 70 degree celcius) : to hot water
tank for heat recovery
3. Recycle drain : to recycle water tank
4. CCR (combined cooling rinse): to ETP
Pumps
• The main pumps and their functions are listed below:
1. 5 winch motors :4 for loading of fabric and 1 for unloading
2. Main pump : For bath circulation
3. Filter pump: helps in separation of fluff
4. Platter pump: helps in laping of the fabric
5. Stirrer pumps: Assists in [Link] on top of the stock tank and AT1.
6. Dosing pump: Controls the rate of dosing from tank to machine.
Sensors
• The various sensors present on the machine are as follows:
1. Proximity sensors: There are two proximity [Link]
machine(alarm) and pump starts working as the rod is sensed by first
and second proximity sensors respectively.
2. Seam detector: Detects the magnet in the tube so that cycle time can
be calculated.
3. Machine cleaning sensor: detects fluff and dirt and assists in cleaning
of machine.
4. Door safety device: Present on the lid to sense whether the door is
properly locked or not.
Interior
• The interior of the machine consists of:
1. J box
2. 4 winches
3. 4 nozzles
The fabric is firstly loaded through winches and passes through the
nozzles and j [Link] dyes enter the main pipe which have
branches which attaches it to [Link] these the dyes enter
nozzles and comes in contact with the [Link] is to ensure even
dyeing.J box helps in pressing of the fabric o avoid entanglement. J
box is controlled by package depth. It has range of 0-10. The fabric
tube is loaded in circuar form.
Heat exchanger and Filter

• Steam from utilities enter the heat exchanger . It heats up the cold
water stream which then enters the machine. Steam condenses
and condensate returns to utilities.
• Phenomena of cooling also takes place in heat exchanger when
we have to drain the machine.
• Filter is used to remove fluff.
