Greater Green: Sustainable Energy Solutions

Greater Green is an initiative aimed at addressing the unsustainable use of natural resources and its environmental impact by analyzing energy consumption and proposing sustainable practices. The project includes the development of an app that calculates carbon footprints and suggests strategies for reducing emissions and promoting renewable energy sources. The goal is to foster a more sustainable future for communities and organizations through informed energy choices.

Greater Green 2
Introduction
•Electricity accounts for about 20% of the
world’s total final consumption of energy, but its
share of energy services is higher due to its

efficiency. It is central to many aspects of daily
life and becomes more so as electricity spreads
to new end-uses, such as electric vehicles (EVs)
and heat pumps.

What is the
problem?
The problem is unsustainable
use of natural resources and
the negative impact it has on
the environment. Greater
Green seeks to identify and
propose solutions to reduce
the carbon footprint of a
particular community or
organization by analyzing
their energy consumption
and identifying ways to
promote more sustainable
practices. By doing so, the
project aims to contribute to
a more sustainable and
environmentally-friendly
future.

SOLUTION
 The unsustainable use of natural resources
and its negative impact on the
environment is a complex issue, but there
are several solutions that can help address
it. Here are some potential solutions:
 One solution is to conserve and preserve
natural resources to reduce the amount of
waste and depletion
 Shifting to renewable energy sources, such
as wind and solar power
 Encouraging sustainable consumption
habits can help to reduce the demand for
natural resources.

What does Greater
Green do?
Greater Green is an app where it will analyze the energy
consumption and carbon emissions of a particular
community or organization and propose strategies for
reducing their environmental impact. This app would
then use mathematical models and statistical analysis to
identify areas where energy consumption could be
reduced and carbon emissions could be mitigated.
Greater Green also would include an investigation of
renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power,
and how they could be integrated into the community or
organization's energy infrastructure. Students could use
mathematical modeling to analyze the feasibility and
cost-effectiveness of different renewable energy options.

What’s
next?
Greater Green is launch a small beta
version of the app to the parents of our
community and they will see how much
carbon emissions and resources are going
to waste. Greater Green would culminate
in a proposal for specific sustainability
initiatives that could be implemented in
the community or organization. This could
includes recommendations for energy-
efficient lighting and appliances,
transportation alternatives like biking or
public transit, and waste reduction
strategies such as composting or
recycling. Greater Green strives to help
the world in ways no person has and
that’s by conserving energy.

Carbon footprint
Calculator

One app that could help parents in your community understand the
impact of their daily choices on carbon emissions and resource waste
is a carbon footprint calculator.
The app could prompt users to enter information about their daily
routines, such as the type of transportation they use, the amount of
energy they consume in their home, and the types of food they eat.
The app could then calculate their carbon footprint based on this
Carbon footprint calculator
information and provide personalized tips on how to reduce their
impact.
Here it will show the monthly graphs of the carbon footprint and will analyse
and give you the information on how much carbon emissions
and resources are going to waste.

Summary
•We aim to address the issue of
unsustainable use of natural resources
and the negative impact it has on the
environment. Through analyzing energy
consumption and identifying
opportunities for more sustainable
practices, the project seeks to propose
solutions to reduce the carbon footprint
of a particular community or
organization. “The best way to predict
the future is to create it.” - Peter
Drucker
•Solving climate change is great
responsibility, but being negligent is the
worst attitude.
