Bees at risk
Bee populations have been declining
globally over recent decades due to habitat
loss, intensive farming practices, changes in
weather patterns and the excessive use of
agrochemicals such as pesticides.
Air pollution affects bees. Research shows that
air pollutants interact with scent molecules
released by plants which bees need to locate
food, interfering with the bees’ ability
to forage efficiently, making them slower and
less effective at pollination
To encourage governments, organizations,
civil society and concerned citizens to
protect pollinators and their habitats, the UN
has declared 20 May World Bee Day to raises
awareness of the essential role bees and
other pollinators play in keeping people and
the planet healthy

Life without Majority of our nutritious foods are bee-
assisted. No almonds. No apples. No
bees 1 cherries. The list goes on and on.
Humans would lose a healthy, vibrant
diet
The only option without bees is hand
pollination. But hand-pollinating is
expensive. And guess where those costs
2 would be absorbed? By consumers! IF
you could get your hands on fresh fruits
and vegetables — it would cost you an
arm and a leg
Bee declines warn us that we are on a
toxic track. The same pesticides that are
killing bees threaten many other insects,
which are the basis of our ecosystems.
3 And these toxic chemicals contaminate
the air, water and soil harming the vital
soil communities we need to grow our 10
food
