Review electricity Circuit?

An electrical circuit complete only when there is at least one closed loop from positive to the
negative end. This is the simplest form of an electric circuit, the circuit found inside a television is
more complicated and has different components.

What is Electric Power?

Electric power measure of the rate of electrical energy transfer by an electric

circuit per unit time.

Denoted by P and measured using the SI unit of power is the watt or one joule
per second.

Electric power is commonly supplied by sources such as electric batteries and

produced by electric generators.

Electric power measure the rate at which work is done

What happen when energy is transferred to electric circuit.

1. Electrons are given energy by a voltage source, battery.

Measure that energy in volts which is in joules per coulomb which is electric
potential energy.

2. Electrons pass through the circuit and collide with atoms in components

3. Electrons loss energy

4. Energy is converted to heat. Light or motion.

Symbol of electric power is P

Unit is in watts

One watt is equal to one joule of electric potential energy

being used per second

1 watt = 1 joule/second

What is Voltage?
Voltage is the pressure from an electrical circuit's power source that pushes
charged electrons (current) through a conducting loop, enabling them to do work
such as illuminating a light.

In brief, voltage = pressure, and it is measured in volts (V). The term recognizes
Italian physicist Alessandro Volta (1745-1827), inventor of the voltaic pile—the
forerunner of today's household battery.

What is Resistance?

Resistance is an electrical quantity that measures how the device or material

reduces the electric current flow through it.

Resistance is a measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit.

Resistance is measured in ohms, symbolized by the Greek letter omega (Ω). Ohms
are named after Georg Simon Ohm (1784-1854).
