Creative Writing
Creative writing is a form of writing using descriptive
and vivid words using human experiences to create an art. It
is an art because it entertains the reader through emotions
like joy, sadness, and anger which are embedded in literacy
pieces.
Like all forms of writing, creative writing has unique
features that makes if different from the rest.
Imaginative Writing
Imaginative writing is the other name for creative
writing. Why is it imaginative?
It is imaginative because the writers can create
characters of personas or fictional setting in the literary
piece with the use of human experiences.
Categories of Creative
Writing
Prose Poetry
-a form of language showing -it observes meter, rhythm
natural flow of speech and and sound. It evokes
grammatical structure feelings/emotions through
the use of figurative
language.

Technical Writing
Technical writing is a form of writing focuses on
directing, instructing, explaining to the readers a particular
subject. This writing is used by people in information and
technology industry.
Features of Technical Writing
1. It conveys process of doing/ using things.
2. It is explanatory in nature and prosaic in form.
3. It uses jargon.
Academic Writing
Academic writing is used by researchers and
educators in making research papers/studies, books and
other materials for education.

1. It conveys facts.
2. It uses formal language and prosaic in form.
3. It has third person point-of-view.
Journalistic Writing
Journalistic writing is used in the world of mass
media. This is widely used in print media such as newspaper
and digital media like social media sites (e.g. Facebook) and
news online portals.
