PHP - Ds Vector::merge() Function



The PHPDs\Sequence::merge()function is used to retrieve the result of adding all given values to a sequence. This function merges all elements into a vector and returns a copy of the vector after merging all values.

For example, v1 = ([1, 2]), and v2 = ([3, 4]), so the resultant vector will be = ([1, 2, 3, 4]).

Syntax

Following is the syntax of the PHP Ds\Sequence::merge() function −

public Ds\Vector::merge(mixed $values): Ds\Vector

Parameters

Following is the parameter of this function −

  • $values − A traversal object or an array needs to be merged.

Return value

This function returns the result of adding all given values to a sequence.

Example 1

The following program demonstrates the usage of the PHP Ds\Sequence::merge() function −

   $vector1 = new \Ds\Vector([1, 2, 3, 4, 5]);
   echo "The vector1 elements: \n"; 
   print_r($vector1);
   $vector2 = new \Ds\Vector([6, 7, 8, 9, 10]); 
   echo "The vector2 elements: \n";
   print_r($vector2);
   echo("The resultant vector: \n"); 
   print_r($vector1->merge($vector2)); 
?>

Output

The above program produces the following output −

The vector1 elements:
Ds\Vector Object
(
    [0] => 1
    [1] => 2
    [2] => 3
    [3] => 4
    [4] => 5
)
The vector2 elements:
Ds\Vector Object
(
    [0] => 6
    [1] => 7
    [2] => 8
    [3] => 9
    [4] => 10
)
The resultant vector:
Ds\Vector Object
(
    [0] => 1
    [1] => 2
    [2] => 3
    [3] => 4
    [4] => 5
    [5] => 6
    [6] => 7
    [7] => 8
    [8] => 9
    [9] => 10
)

Example 2

Following is another example of the PHP Ds\Sequence::merge() function. We use this function to retrieve a result of adding all values in a sequence of the given vectors −
