Basatne is making a move in the Middle East’s circular economy with its acquisition of Cartlow. This strategic step brings together two sustainability-driven pioneers to transform re-commerce and device lifecycle management. The Middle East faces a significant e-waste crisis, generating over 3 million metric tonnes annually. With the region’s re-commerce market expected to surpass € 28 billion by 2028, solutions like Cartlow’s circular ecosystem are more critical than ever. To date, Cartlow has already recirculated over 1 million devices, preventing 100,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions and generating € 125 million in economic value. Now, under Basatne’s leadership, Cartlow’s technology will scale even further, creating a fully closed-loop circular economy. According to Basatne CEO Ammar Aboulnasr, this acquisition completes their ecosystem, making sustainable trade more seamless and efficient.
