IOM Belgium and Luxembourg housing initiatives

About us

In every conversation on migration, whether focused on vulnerable migrants or migrant mobility, housing consistently emerges as a priority concern, underscoring the urgent need for coordinated and sustainable solutions. Our mission is to promote access to safe, affordable, and dignified housing as a key driver of integration, resilience, and wellbeing, through inclusive approaches and collaboration with national and local partners. Led by IOM Belgium and Luxembourg, this page brings together housing-related work in Belgium, from project milestones and impact stories to lessons learned and policy insights. It highlights the people and partnerships driving change, shares evidence of progress, and invites stakeholders to engage through events and calls to action. RISE empowers communities to welcome and support refugees through Community Sponsorship - connecting newcomers with local networks, housing, and essential services. Together, we build inclusive futures, one home at a time. Join the movement and help make integration a shared success. Because, after all, 'It takes a Community to Build a Home'. PATHS (Providing Assistance for Transitioning Housing Solutions) brings together communities, NGO's and private stakeholders to create lasting housing solutions for refugees moving from reception centres to the private housing market in Belgium, France and Greece. Together, we build pathways toward sustainable housing and integration. Are you a landlord interested in making a difference? Connect with us! The RISE project is co-funded by the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (2021–2027). PATHS is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) (EU Social).
