Right or correct?

在科技论文写作中表达“正确”、“对”时，是right还是correct ？

right、correct 表达“正确”、“对”时同义，但right隐含评判，带有“评判者”的语气，所以在科技写作中避免使用，特别是在叙述别人的理论、观点、结果时避免使用。correct 是指客观正确，符合科技论文的语气。例如：

The correct results don’t always suggest that the approach is appropriate.（正确的结果并不总是意味方法是合适的。）

上句不宜写为：

The right results don’t always suggest that the approach is appropriate.

又例如：

The observation validated that Einstein’s General Relativity is correct.（观测验证了爱因斯坦的广义相对论是正确的。）

The advantage of digital communication over analog communication is that the former virtually receives the correct signals （effectively filtering noise ）while the latter cannot.（数字通信比较模拟通信的优势在于数字通信几乎总能接收正确信号（有效滤除噪声）而模拟通信不能。）
