英语写作中适当地用outcome 代替result

result是科技论文写作中广泛使用的表达，表示“结果、成果”，例如：

the results of tests（测试结果、考试成绩）

the results of computation/debugging/compilation （计算、调试、编译的结果）

the result of their work/analysis/simulation/experiments/calculations ……（他们工作……的结果（成果））

result 是中性词，在表达“成果”时可以用褒义词outcome 代替result，丰富英语表达。

例如：

the outcome of their work/analysis/simulation/experiments……

The outcome of their work revealed that space travel is possible.（他们的研究工作成果揭示了太空旅行是可能的。）

The outcome of deconvolution of CNN helped us understand the mechanism why CNN can achieve image recognition.（卷积神经网络（CNN）的反卷积结果有助于我们理解卷积神经网络的图像识别机理。）

上句中用outcome 是非常合适的，因为对CNN反卷积是一项研究工作，但中文说“反卷积成果”不合适，还是说“反卷积结果”。
