⚡ Boosting Battery Performance with Single-Atom MXenes A new study from China, the USA, and IT4Innovations shows how lithium-sulphur batteries can be made faster, more stable, and more efficient. By embedding single atoms into sulphur-functionalised MXenes and applying strain engineering, researchers dramatically accelerated reactions and prevented polysulfide “shuttling.” Supercomputers at IT4Innovations helped identify the most promising combinations – with nickel, copper, and zinc giving up to 75% lower energy barriers than traditional graphene catalysts.
