🎉 Excited to share that our conference paper has just been published! 📄 “Towards ICT-Enabled Multi-agent Based Operations in Local Energy Communities: A Proof of Concept” 🔗 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gdMtw98s (“Energy Informatics”, LNCS Vol. 16095) 🔑 What we did Developed and validated a decentralised, agent-based scheduling framework (building on the MASSIVE platform https://lnkd.in/gc5dgYN2) to coordinate flexibility in local energy communities. Integrated the market mechanism with real hardware: battery energy storage system and a hydrogen electrolysis test bench, via lightweight MQTT configuration and cloud-based control. Demonstrated the feasibility of multi-agent, market-driven coordination across physical and virtual assets in a real-world smart energy context. 🌎 Why it matters In the move towards more decentralised and renewable-rich energy systems, local energy communities (LECs) require efficient and scalable coordination of distributed generation, storage and demand-side flexibility. Our approach offers a viable path for realising this in practice — not just in simulation but with live hardware and market interaction. 🤝 Thanks to The collaborative team from Forschungszentrum Jülich, KIT and all participants and funders who enabled this work. 🔍 I’d love to hear your thoughts: What challenges or opportunities do you see for agent-based coordination in local energy systems?
