2. entweder … oder (either … or)
• Entweder kommst du mit, oder du bleibst hier. (Either you
come along, or you stay here.)
• Entweder kochen wir, oder wir bestellen etwas. (Either we
cook, or we order something.)
3. weder … noch (neither … nor)
• Er hat weder Zeit noch Geld. (He has neither time nor
money.)
• Weder das Wetter noch die Stimmung war gut. (Neither the
weather nor the mood was good.)
4. nicht nur … sondern auch (not only … but also)
• Sie ist nicht nur intelligent, sondern auch humorvoll. (She is

5. je … desto (the … the [comparative])

6. je … umso (the … the [comparative])

7. einerseits … andererseits (on the one hand … on the
other hand)
