The Hybrid 'Penalty' - Idiocy Run Rampant
You can find articles everywhere on the Hybrid Penalty , viz, how long it'll take to earn back the extra money you spent for the Hybrid based on the additional fuel efficiency. Huh? What? Is the point supposed to be that the only reason you buy this car is because of the fuel advantage? Ok, lets work with that. You could buy a 6 cylinder Mustang @23mpg, or an 8 cylinder one @17mpg. So, based on the same logic You are losing money on the 8 cylinder Mustang from day one, or You can only drive it 17/23 or 74% of the time. Does that make any sense? Or, lets take the Metallic Paint option ($250), or the Premium Sound System ($2K), or the Navigation System ($1.5K). How long for those to earn back the premium you paid, based on, well, I'm not quite sure what . I could go on, but you get the point. Please, please stop with the lunacy.
