Generate Gemini Pro API Key

Hi,

I am new here in Gemini. I would like to kindly ask if there is a way to generate a Gemini Pro API Key as currently I only See Gemini 2.0 Flash. Or this is only available to Paid tiers?

To access the Gemini 2.5 Pro API, you need to upgrade your project to a paid tier.

First you need to Enable Cloud Billing on your account Settings > Plan Information.. Click on Set up Billing and follow the prompts to enable Cloud Billing

Second Upgrade to Paid Tier - Once billing is enabled, return to the API Keys section in AI Studio. Locate your project and click on “Upgrade”. The system will verify your project’s eligibility, and if it meets the criteria, your project will be upgraded to the paid tier.

After upgrading, you’ll have access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro API and its enhanced features.
