A: The former Google Cloud Community has been renamed and integrated into the Google Developer Program, creating the new Google Developer Program forums. This change introduces a new structure designed to reduce clutter, improve the quality of discussions, and centralize resources. As a result, several categories have been closed or merged, and some features have been updated.
Forum & Content Changes
Q: What categories and features are being retired?
A: To streamline our forums, the following categories and features have been closed:
- Workspace Q&A: This forum is now closed. For Google Workspace questions, please visit the official Google Workspace Community.
- Workspace Feature Ideas: This section has been retired. We will be exploring new ways to gather your valuable feedback in the future.
- Learning and Certification Hub: The dedicated Learning and Certification Hub category is being retired. Learning content will now be featured in the more centralized Community News and Announcements category.
- Google Cloud Security: The standalone Google Cloud Security category is closing. Security-related discussions and resources can now be found at their new location here.
- Google Cloud Customer Connect: The Google Cloud Customer Connect forums is being retired. Contact your account team and CC: [email protected].
Q: Where can I find Learning content now?
A: All official learning resources, including tutorials, guides, and educational announcements, will now be posted in the News and Announcements category. Be sure to subscribe to this category to stay updated.
Profile & Subscription Changes
Q: What happened to my “Innovator” icon/badge?
A: With the integration into the Google Developer Program, our badging system has been updated. The “Innovator” icon has been replaced with a new set of profile icons that reflect participation across the broader Google developer ecosystem.
Q: How do I manage my email subscriptions?
A: You can manage all of your forum subscriptions from your user profile settings. Navigate to your profile, select the “Preferences>Notifications” or “Preferences>Email” tab, and you will be able to customize your notification preferences for different categories and topics.
