ver de la página A a la página L del set.
En un examen tambaleante, el writing tiene mucho peso. Se espera que el alumno utilice la
estructura adecuada en cada párrafo así como también el vocabulario del set. No debe estar
todo junto, es importantísimo que haya “párrafos”.

Letter of complaint

Dear sir or madam,

I’m writing to complain about a pair of jeans I ordered from your catalogue. I was very
disappointed when it arrived.
To begin with, even though your advertisement promised it would arrive quickly, I had
to wait for three weeks. When I phoned your company to ask for them, they rudely told me to be more
patient.
When they eventually arrived, I discovered to my surprise, that they were blue instead
of black, the color which I had actually requested. To make matters even worse I was sent a bigger size
than the one I had asked for: I’m size 38, and I was sent size 42. As if this weren’t enough, the zip was
broken.
The complaints do not stop here since your advertisement turned out to be misleading
in many ways. It’s not true that this brand is only sold by your enterprise: I have seen them in one of the
shops from my town and, to my horror, at a cheaper price. I could sue you!
Therefore, I am sure you may understand why I feel so annoyed and frustrated by the
whole incident. I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future either to offer me a complete
refund or another pair of jeans in a decent condition; Otherwise there’ll be trouble.
Yours faithfully,
Soledad Perez
Requesting for information

Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m writing in response to your advertisement about the climbing trip to the Himalayas.
I’m very interested but first I wonder if you could give me more information.
To begin with, I would like to know in which area of the Himalayas this expedition will
take place. As well as this, you mention it will be in Autumn but I would to know the exact dates since I
will not be free till August.
I would also be grateful if you could tell me how much experience is necessary. I have
been climbing for five years and I have climbed many difficult climbs in the Alps. Would that be enough?
Is there a minimum age to join the trip?
Could you also provide me with further details as regards accommodation and cost? In
addition, I wonder if you could explain what you mean by difficult conditions.
The trip sounds very exciting, so I hope I will be able to join you. I look forward to
hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Soledad Perez
Letter of application

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have seen your advertisement which was published in the Daily Globe and I would like
to apply.
I am a twenty five-year-old argentine girl. When I was young, my parents used to send
me to The Buenos Aires Dance School where I learned many different styles, among which I can mention
Tango, my favourite one. I was invited to join in several competitions but as they were usually abroad
my family could never afford to pay for them. Eventually, due to economic reasons, I had to give up my
classes. In spite of this, I kept on dancing with a friend with whom we have set up our own business: we
dance in clubs, pubs and private parties. We have managed to make a living out of that so this
opportunity would be unique for us, not only would we gain more popularity but we would also enrich
ourselves with an unforgettable experience.
As regards the date, we would prefer to participate on Friday 2nd since we are already
engaged for a party on Saturday 3rd.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Soledad Perez
