🌐 The Andalus Committee had the honor of attending the Mediterranean Dialogues 2025 conference, the leading event on Mediterranean affairs, bringing together leaders from government, civil society, business, and academia to shape the region’s agenda. 👤 The MENA Regional Research Center’s Editorial Head, Elena Delia Marini, represented the Andalus Committee and had the opportunity to hear from expert speakers, including several Ministers of Foreign Affairs: Varsen Aghabekian Shahin of Palestine, Fuad Hussein of Iraq, and Antonio Tajani of Italy, to name a few. 🕊️ In the panel discussion, “After Sharm el-Sheikh: a New Middle East?”, speakers reflected on the opportunities that may emerge following war, crises, and fragile transitions in the region. The fate of the Mediterranean impacts the entire world—through energy markets, trade, and security. Collaboration from key regional actors, such as Iraq, Lebanon, and Italy, is critical to reinforce resilience and open new pathways to prosperity. 🌍 The Andalus Committee had the honour of participating in the Conferencia Mundial AFROMADRID 2025, held from 13–16 October in Madrid, a landmark gathering uniting activists, academics, and international leaders to advance recognition and reparative justice for Afro-descendant communities worldwide. ⚡ In collaboration with the Organismo Internacional de Juventud para Iberoamérica (OIJ), our delegation co-organised a Youth Workshop on October 13th at OIJ headquarters, amplifying the voices and proposals of Afro-descendant youth in Spain and across the globe. 💬 The conference continued at the Museo Reina Sofía and the Spanish Senate, addressing key themes such as ethical and historical reparations, climate justice, and the creation of an Ibero-Afro-American System to strengthen cooperation between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. 🙏 We extend our gratitude to the AFROMADRID Secretariat and partner institutions for convening such an inspiring platform for dialogue and action. 🌍 The Andalus Committee had the pleasure of attending the Atlantic Council’s Africa Energy Forum, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. ⚡Organized by the Atlantic Council Africa Center, this high-level gathering explored Africa’s central role in the global energy transition, from critical minerals and natural gas to renewable innovation and equitable access to electricity. 💬 The Forum featured an exceptional lineup of speakers, including H.E. 🇫🇷 The Andalus Committee is proud to announce the release of its 2025 Annual Report, entitled “France and the Global South: Reframing Partnerships for a Changing World Order.” 🌍 This comprehensive report, prepared for the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, offers an updated assessment of France’s evolving relationship with the Global South. 🇫🇷 Le bureau parisien du Andalus Committee a eu l’honneur d’organiser, en partenariat avec le Ministère des Affaires étrangères français, un atelier dans le cadre de La Fabrique de la diplomatie, les 5 et 6 septembre 2025 à l’Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Campus Nation. 📖 Intitulé « Redessiner l’ordre mondial : le rôle du Sud global dans la réforme du Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies », cet atelier en français a réuni plus de 400 étudiants et professionnels autour d’un Modèle des Nations Unies, en présence de diplomates et de membres d’organisations internationales. 🙏 Nous sommes fiers d’avoir été l’une des rares organisations dirigées par des jeunes à être partenaires officiels de cette première édition, illustrant la place essentielle des nouvelles générations dans le débat diplomatique. 👏 Merci à l’Académie diplomatique et consulaire, notamment Didier Le Bret, Meriem Dembélé et Pauline Detraz, au Ministère pour son invitation, ainsi qu’à tous les participants pour la richesse des échanges.
