This issue is for discussion of the use case “Animate a map through a sequence of points”, its examples & list of required capabilities.

This use case is one step beyond #116, which is about the basic ability to change the view from script. Now, if that's possible, then it's possible to animate the view by writing your own animation loop & progressively changing the values. But some APIs make it easier to trigger a transition without setting all the intermediary values yourself.
