I'm using Stack with resolver lts-12.5, so that is gi-gtk-3.0.24

I think I have now fixed this, could you please let me know if it works for you? You'll need the latest versions of gi-gtk, gi-gtk-hs and haskell-gi-base available in hackage, namely 3.0.25, 0.3.6.2 and 0.21.2.
