We are thrilled to announce that Equal1 has been selected by the European Space Agency - ESA to install a cutting-edge Hybrid Quantum Computing (HQC) System for Earth Observation (EO). This landmark partnership will see the deployment of our advanced Bell-1 Quantum Computer at ESA under the Quantum Computing for Earth Observation (QC4EO) initiative. What this means: 🔹 Accelerated Data Processing: Our Bell-1 system leverages the unique capabilities of quantum computing, utilising the potential of quantum algorithms to accelerate the processing of increasingly complex Earth Observation workloads. 🔹 Real-World Applications: ESA scientists will use the system to explore quantum algorithms for applications like Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) raw data processing and mission planning for satellite constellations. 🔹 Scalable Innovation: The Bell-1 is a compact, rack-mounted, easily deployable quantum server, offering a scalable, efficient, and low-power solution that seamlessly integrates into ESA's existing HPC environment. We officially submitted our EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) Quantum Computing tender response, EuroSSQ-HPC (SURF), reaffirming our deep commitment to the Dutch quantum ecosystem through our partnership with TNO and our R&D base at the House of Quantum in Delft. We also met with LuxProvide, the operators of the MeluXina supercomputer and a key partner in the EuroHPC initiative, as we discussed the future integration of #Quantum and #HPC in Luxembourg.
