ASSOCHAM Goa State Council, in collaboration with MSME-DFO, Government of India, organised an Intellectual Property (IP) awareness workshop on the theme “Ideas to Assets: Owning Your Intellectual Property Rights.” The programme brought together experts from academia, law, and industry to deepen understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and strengthen awareness across the state’s innovation ecosystem. 🔍 Key Highlights of the Workshop 🔺 Dr. Sashidhar Sampathirao, Associate Professor, IIT Goa delivered the keynote address on “Sowing the Seeds of Innovation in Young Minds - Role of Academia in Viksit Bharat,” emphasising early exposure to creativity and innovation. 🔺 Shri Sapresh Devidas, Assistant Professor, VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law spoke on “A Decade of Changes in IPR Law: 2016 to 2036,” outlining the evolution and future trajectory of India’s IP landscape. 🔺 Shri Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Goa IP & Innovation committee and Founder Partner, Menezes Gaonkar, discussed “The Need to Accelerate IPRs to Compete Globally - Adopting the Viksit Mindset,” highlighting the importance of IP-driven competitiveness. 🔺 Shri Amartya Choudhary, Assistant Director-I, IEDS, MSME DFO - Goa provided an insightful overview of MSME schemes supporting innovation and IP protection. 🔺 Adv.
