L&T Semiconductor Technologies participated in an important industry dialogue at the 8th CII Electronics Summit om 17th nov'25, where our India Country Head and Chief Development Officer, Sanjay Gupta, moderated a panel on “From Design to Deployment: Positioning India as a Global Product Development Hub.” LTSCT was also proud to be one of the Gold Sponsors for the summit. The discussion highlighted a central truth. India has world-class semiconductor talent, but becoming a product-led nation will require stronger R&D investment, deeper academia and industry collaboration, better access to design infrastructure, and a clear focus on IP creation and indigenisation. Panelists shared views on targeted high-volume product designs, stronger joint R&D roadmaps between academia and industry, and the need for focused Centres of Excellence to drive India based IP creation. During her special address, Ms. Sunita Verma, Scientist - G and Group Coordinator at Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, stressed the importance of identifying high-volume and strategically significant product categories that India must lead to build a strong and globally relevant product ecosystem. The session wrapped up with a shared commitment to build design-first capabilities and enable Indian product innovation to scale globally. L&T Semiconductor Technologies has partnered with Hon Young Semiconductor (HYS) of Taiwan to co-develop high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) wafers ranging from 650 V to 3,300 V. These wafers will power the next generation of SiC MOSFETs and Schottky barrier diodes, driving innovation in electric mobility, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure.
