  • Breast cancer remains one of the leading health challenges for women in India, but Indian innovators are now rewriting the narrative. One such breakthrough is NIRAMAI’s Thermalytix, an AI-powered thermal imaging tool founded by Dr. Geetha Manjunath, a researcher with over two decades of expertise in data analytics and artificial intelligence, who set out to create an accessible and effective method for early detection. Thermalytix uses high-resolution thermal sensing and machine-learning algorithms to identify abnormalities long before symptoms appear. Non-invasive, radiation-free, portable, and cost-effective, it is built for screening camps, community health centres, and last-mile clinics—bringing early detection to women who need it most. By spotlighting this innovation, NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub underscores how frontier technologies can expand access, strengthen public health systems, and ultimately save lives.
