SCIL is a subsidiary of one of the leading global chemical companies Sumitomo Chemical Corporation Limited, Japan (SCC, Japan), and a leading player in agrochemicals, biopesticides, feed additives, household insecticides and animal nutrition sectors. The company was registered in India on 15th Feb’2000, and since then it has changed the lives of millions of people associated with it and brought smile to their faces. The merger of Excel Crop Care Limited with SCIL completed on 31st August 2019. Sumitomo Chemical India Limited was listed in the Bombay Stock Exchange on 27th January, 2020, which marked the beginning of a new era, under the leadership of Mr. Ray Nishimoto and Mr. Chetan Shah. The Parent Company of SCIL, Sumitomo Chemical Company Limited, was established in 1913 to manufacture fertilizers from sulphur dioxide emitted from smelting operations at the Besshi copper mine in Niihama, Ehime Prefecture, with the aim of solving environmental problems caused by the emissions. The mine itself was owned by Sumitomo a company which dates back to the 16th Century. The Japanese Parenthood and the unique business philosophy of SCIL, makes it one of the most trusted companies when it comes to product quality and care for society, especially the Farmers of India.
