Fujitsu Limited and Yamaguchi University announced a new low-power edge computing technology designed for near real-time image processing on small satellites and IoT devices. The system operates within a 20-watt power limit and uses redundant GPU setups to handle cosmic radiation, combining Fujitsu's AI and supercomputing strengths with the university's expertise in satellite data analysis. During tests on a satellite prototype, the technology processed SAR raw data into 2D images and analyzed ocean surface wind speeds in under 10 minutes. This successful demonstration shows how real-time, energy-efficient AI workloads can be supported directly on edge systems without relying on power-heavy cloud infrastructure.

Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.5 as its most advanced AI model so far, with a strong focus on coding, automation, and complex computer operations. Founded by Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, and a group of former OpenAI researchers, the company aims to position this new model at the center of long and detailed engineering and research workflows used across industries. The model went live on 24 November and is accessible through Anthropic's own apps, API, and major cloud platforms, including those supported by Microsoft. Early tests show that Opus 4.5 performs extremely well in agent-style tasks where it plans and executes multi-step actions with minimal guidance, giving it an edge in high-value enterprise use cases.
