Course Reserves

Find and access to materials put on reserve for your courses by your professor. This guide provides information for both students and professors about reserves available through the UMSL Thomas Jefferson library.

Reserves

The Library maintains course reserve collections to support instructional requirements. The reserve collections consist of library materials and books from instructors that faculty request be placed on reserve for students to use.

Patrons may only have two reserve materials checked out at any given time. The loan periods for reserve materials are:

  • 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 hours - Materials under these loan periods can leave the library
  • 2 hours, Library Use Only - Materials under this loan period cannot leave the library. The patron's ID card will be kept at the Circulation Desk during check out

The library will make items available as soon as possible, however please allow 24 to 48 hours processing time for items to be placed on reserve.

The Libraries observe copyright law when placing materials on reserve.
