GM Farcaster this week: CastOut began!
GM! CastOut began this past week and it's been, well, interesting. We've had an amazing time with the challenges but the social game has had its bumps. We started Monday with our favorite classic Yoink!, then onto something new with @tryemerge, followed that up with /fctrivia, and ended CastOut's week with @codygame. We love mixing classics with newbies and thank all of these amazing teams for letting us incorporate their mini apps into the game! There are 4 tribes left and plenty of game to ...

The Need to Be Seen
Part 1: The SparkThis afternoon, I saw a post from Geoff Golberg. He shared a memory: the day Jack Dorsey unexpectedly shared his Periscope stream. No prompt. No context. Just sudden visibility. Geoff felt seen. And it hit me — this wasn't just content. It was a cultural signal. A feeling so universal it wants to spread. The like from someone you admire. The reply you didn’t expect. That electric moment when your existence is acknowledged by someone who matters. And I thought:This shouldn’t d...

Block-Based Founder Schedules
Intentional Schedules for “Builder Brains”Earlier this week, Marc Herson posted on LinkedIn that founders with ADHD operate a little bit differently and suggested that rigorous scheduling systems are the best way to complement that so-called “builder brain” energy. Then he shared he “ADHD Founder Operating Rhythm” schedule as an example for what works for him. Here it is:Source: Marc Herson’s LinkedInWhile I’ve never been diagnosed with ADHD, as soon as I saw Marc’s schedule, I laughed out lo...

The great paradox of real estate
Sean Sweeney @seandsweeney The great paradox of real estate. When it’s hard to find great deals, it’s easy to find money. When it’s hard to find money, it’s easy to find great deals. 374 9:34 PM • Nov 5, 2025 This tweet by Sean Sweeney is, of course, 100% true. It is also true of markets and investing in general. When everyone feels confident, money becomes available, and then returns fall. There's too much competition. But when everyone is scared and liquidity dries up, bargains emerge. Now ...

In Chinese culture, certain numbers — like 4 — are generally considered unlucky because of how they sound. I don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but as I understand it, 4 sounds similar to "death." And this is even more the case in Cantonese. Four sounds exactly like death, fourteen sounds like "definitely die," and forty-four is the equivalent of "die, certainly die." (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) It is for this reason that in certain real estate markets, and in particular Cantonese-speak...
