Today Volvo Energy welcomed customers, partners, media and colleagues to Customer Day in Gothenburg, Sweden, a day dedicated to exploring opportunities, sharing insights, and experiencing the new PU2000 battery energy storage system in action. The event began with a welcome from Elisabeth Larsson, SVP and Head of Sales & Services at Volvo Energy, followed by a dialogue with Mark Ellis, SVP and Head of Battery Technology, on the challenges of the energy transition and the opportunities energy storage can bring. One of our guest speaker Charlotte Reidhav ♦️, COO Energy Infrastructure Solutions Nordic, E.ON, shared how they drive the energy transition by future-proofing the electricity grid and developing energy solutions based on renewable energy. “Today marks Volvo Group's ambition to be a leading force in the shift towards the electrification and green transition. It will make a real impact in supporting our customers to overcome grid constraints and reduce carbon footprint.” says Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO of Volvo Group, who also delivered the inspiring message to all participants. The dialogue was brought to life through the live demonstration of PU2000 and PU500 battery energy storage systems. Guests also explored the Virtual Reality station and connected through networking sessions. The Customer Day carried the theme "Energy you can trust." It was not only about presenting technology but also about listening, learning, and working side by side with customers and partners to build resilience, reduce costs, and accelerate the shift to electrification. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to an open and inspiring day. Our sales team is always happy to discuss how our solutions can meet your energy needs. From Berlin to Gothenburg on electricity. Have you been out on the roads in Europe over summer? Maybe even with your electric car? The number of charging stations along the major roads in Europe make it fully possible to drive an electric car on a cross-country road trip. But what is it like for an electric truck… Earlier this summer our Volvo Energy Colleagues Henrik Fagrell and Magnus Löwenadler took on the mission to bring an electric truck from Berlin to Gothenburg, where it is now part of the test fleet for electric vehicles at Volvo Energy. The best alternative was to drive the truck the 400 kilometers from Berlin to the Kiel ferry, where they would depart by boat to Gothenburg. It turned out to be a unique experience, as there are zero chargers for commercial vehicles along that route, yes you read it, zero. Despite this, but mainly thanks to a very skilled driver in Magnus, the team were able to utilize passenger car charging stations and reached Gothenburg according to plan, all while having an enjoyable trip. These were their two main learnings from the experience: - The charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles needs to improve before long-haul electric transport can become a reality - The electric trucks on the market today have sufficient range for local transport missions without range-anxiety At Volvo Energy we are constantly expanding the charging network for electric trucks via the service Volvo Open Charge and together with our partners we are dedicated to accelerating electrification. #Wearevolvogroup #charginginfrastructure #publiccharging

Julie Grind has been Battery Logistics Project Manager at Volvo Energy for just over a year, bringing a background in supply chain strategy and operations from sectors such as textiles, shipping, and management consulting. Today, she strengthens both the Volvo Energy organization and the Battery Planning & Logistics team. In her role, Julie focuses on ensuring compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) under the EU Battery Regulation. Volvo Energy brings battery circularity to life across the Volvo Group, being responsible for the repurposing and end-of-life management of electric vehicle batteries from around the Group. With EPR in place, this means that in certain cases the Group, and/or our suppliers, carry producer responsibilities. The Battery Regulation requires producers to take responsibility for the collection, recycling, and reporting of batteries placed on the market. Producers must cover the costs, meet recycling targets, and ensure responsible sourcing and traceability. Julie’s work includes clarifying who holds producer responsibility at different stages of our battery logistics flows, and ensuring that Volvo Energy complies with EPR requirements. For example, she helps determine which partners we should work with for the collection and recycling of batteries. Through her work, Julie ensures that Volvo Energy meets regulatory requirements and also drives a more circular battery management for the future! #Wearevolvogroup #circularity #batteryregulation
