In Google Calendar, you can create, view, and change tasks.
Create a task in Calendar
Important: Only work or school accounts can use the "Do not disturb" and "Automatically decline meetings" options.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On your calendar, click an empty slot.
- Or, at the top left, you can click Create.
- Click Task.
- Update your task settings.
- Click Save.

Create a task from Tasks in Calendar
- On your computer, select an option:
- Open Tasks in Calendar.
- At the top right, click Tasks
.
- Click Create.
- Enter your task details.
- Click Save.
Tips:
- To add a task to an existing list, at the top, click Add a task.
- Tasks with a date also appear on your calendar.
Mark a task as complete
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left of the task name, click Complete
.
- At the bottom right, click Mark completed.
View, edit, or delete tasks
To appear on your calendar, tasks must have a date.
View your tasks- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left panel, go to "My calendars."
- To find "My calendars," you may have to click Menu
.
- To find "My calendars," you may have to click Menu
- Make sure the "Tasks" box is checked.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Click the task you want to edit

- Update any task details.
- Click Save.
Tips:
- You can also edit tasks from the side panel or from Tasks in Calendar.
- If you want to change the date and time of the next repeating task in a series, click the date.
- To edit the date and time for all tasks, click the repetition info.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Click the task you want to edit

- Next to "Deadline
," enter a new due date for the task.
- At the bottom right, click Save.
Important: If you share your calendar with someone, you can change the visibility of tasks with a start and end time. Learn how to change event and task visibility.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.

," choose your start and end time.
- At the bottom right, click Save.
Tips:
- You can't add an end time for recurring tasks.
- To convert an existing task into a task with a start and end time:
- Open the task.
- Click Add time.
- Open Google Calendar.
- Click the task to update

Hide tasks on your calendar
Hide completed tasks- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- At the top right, next to "Settings menu
," click the View switcher menu
.
- In the dropdown, deselect Show completed tasks.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left panel, under "My calendars," uncheck the box next to "Tasks."
- To find "My calendars," click Menu

Find & edit pending tasks
To check all uncompleted tasks from the last 365 days:
- Open Google Calendar.
- While viewing a day's schedule, click Pending tasks.
- In the pop-up list, choose how to update pending tasks:
- To edit a task, hover to the right of the task. Click Edit
, make your changes, and click Save.
- To complete a task, hover to the far left of the task. Click Complete
.
- To reschedule a task, hover to the right of the task. Click Reschedule this task
.
- To edit a task, hover to the right of the task. Click Edit
Learn about task notifications
- If you add a date and time to your task, you get notifications at the scheduled date and time.
- Tasks with a date also appear in the Calendar app.
- For tasks without a time, notifications appear at 9 AM.
- For tasks with a deadline, you get a notification to complete the task on the day of the deadline at 9 AM in your local time.

- To repeat a task, select the date and time

- Tasks with subtasks can't repeat.
- In Calendar, a certain number of upcoming instances of a repeating task will appear on the calendar grid, and as time passes, new ones will be added automatically.
