How to build effective clash tests in Navisworks (even if You’re a beginner) I’ve helped hundreds of BIM professionals enhance their coordination process. Here's the specific 5-step playbook you can use to build yours. To make it simple, remember the acronym C.L.A.S.H: 👉 C  - Categorize. Define clash test categories based on discipline, element type, or even LOD stage This avoids unnecessary clashes in your test. 👉 L  - Logic & Rules: Your clash test must be logical. There is no point to check items that aren't real "deal" on site. Furniture, plants, temporary railings Use ignore rules in Navis to omit these elements in your check . 👉 A  - Accuracy of check: If you don't set right tolerances to your check. You will get tons of clashes. So adjust check tolerance to make your accurate 👉 S – Severity Levels: Not all clashes are equal. Classify clashes as critical, major, or minor Prioritize what really matters. Clash Matrix and System Hierarchy are concepts that will help you with that. 👉 H – Handling of Results A clash test is pointless if no one acts on the results. Reports in Navis sucks  - HTML, XML, PDF - don't even bother. Export your issue to issue tracking system - BIMcollab, ACC, Newforma and assign 1 responsible person. Try this C.L.A.S.H framework every time you run clash tests in Navis.
