It has been over 4 months since I have joined the Pioneer Group Launch Programme, funded by Innovate UK, and the experience has been invaluable in understanding how to navigate an early-stage medtech venture. Through workshops, expert mentorship, and access to a strong network, this programme has significantly contributed to neubond growth, providing me with the following key takeaways from my journey so far: ✅ Resilience is key – Startups thrive in uncertainty, and building personal and organisational resilience is essential. ✅ Clarity of vision matters – Defining a strong value proposition and aligning it with real market needs accelerates growth. ✅ Fundraising is more than capital – Finding the right investors means seeking strategic partnerships, not just funding. ✅ Leadership and culture shape success – A well-structured team and a strong culture are just as important as the technology itself. A huge thank you to the Pioneer Group team and for its incredible mentors for their guidance and support! If you are an early-stage founder in life sciences or deep tech, I highly recommend looking into this programme!

From "neurobots" to "living deep brain stimulation", the UK government is investing in cutting-edge research programs to tackle the biggest challenges in brain health. This week Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) announced 18 projects that have been funded under the Precision Neurotechnologies programme. With a total of $69M invested, the programme aims to unlock new methods to interface with the human brain at the circuit level, with unprecedented precision. The research projects include: 🤖 neuro-robots to treat epilepsy 🕸️ a minimally invasive network of mm-sized brain implants 🧠 regenerative scaffolds to heal damaged brain circuits 🔊 non-invasive acoustic neural interfaces ⚡ non-invasive TI deep brain stimulation 💉 targeted drug delivery to the brain 🧬 gene therapies for lasting treatment of brain disorders 🧫 tissue engineering for Parkinson's disease 🚧 addressing barriers to neurotechnology adoption Congrats to all the teams involved, and thanks to Jacques Carolan and Gillian Koehl for driving this programme forward #neurotech #researchprojects #fundingnews

Being a pioneer is exciting! At P-Cure, we’ve been exploring the clinical feasibility of using 50 MeV proton beams to treat eye, shallow tumors without a range shifter. Is it a big deal? For clinicians and patients, yes — avoiding extra hardware can improve comfort, reduce complexity, and simplify treatments. For us, it’s fascinating. Having access to a wider range of energies allows better field selection. In some cases, we can avoid using range shifters or apertures altogether. The plans look clean and promising.
