We're very proud to announce the launch of a new "Book and Claim" approach for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), whereby Airbus is playing a facilitator role, simplifying the process for operators and SAF suppliers! With the Airbus book and claim demonstrator (nickname ABCD), Airbus and our partners will get first hand experience on what is one of the biggest enablers for SAF rampup. There's no better way to learn than by doing. And there's no better tool than book and claim for customers with relatively small fuel consumption to access the attributes of SAF. Supporting the SAF Book and Claim mechanism is an immediate action we are taking that supports the emergence and scale-up of the global SAF market. Together with our partners we will demonstrate that Book and Claim is reliable and that its usage should be extended in voluntary and regulatory markets. 3 things I learned from Exobiosphere's first parabolic flight: 1) Don't eat a Mexican breakfast burrito even if there is a 3 hour delay 2) Never fly without a great team of problem solvers: Olivia, Bruno, and the entire team in #Luxembourg came together to solve all problems 3) Partner with worlds best. FORMULATRIX has been an excellent technical partner helping us to a worlds first demonstration of high throughput drug testing in a microgravity environment. 🚀 Fast PPP w/o dense network? It is real. When people talk about PPP, they usually mention centimeter-level accuracy - but also minutes of convergence time before the solution stabilizes. What is rarely discussed is that there’s an intermediate level of accuracy that can be reached almost instantly. This accuracy is already sufficient for many practical tasks — and it only requires one additional piece of information, which, fortunately, can be derived from the same CORS stations. 📡 That piece of information is the ionosphere. If we have ionospheric data with accuracy of at least 1 TECU (≈16 cm for L1), we can: - avoid using code measurements for resolving widelane ambiguities (via the Melbourne–Wubbena combination), - directly use the phase widelane combination for positioning. Since the widelane wavelength is ≈ 0.86 m (for GPS), it can be resolved quickly and reliably. Further positioning accuracy will then depend primarily on the quality of the ionospheric data. 💡 The key takeaway: with such ionospheric precision, the requirements for code measurements can be dramatically reduced — meaning cheaper GNSS chips and antennas can be used without significant loss of positioning accuracy. This is exactly how Galileo HAS works: its multilayer ionospheric model preserves accuracy while broadcasting corrections on a continental scale. 🌍 For a high-precision service provider, this enables a simple configuration: - a network of just 4–5 stations, - computation of PPP-RTK / PPP-AR corrections (powered by our CORS2NET software), - RTK-like convergence within the network area, - and fast PPP-AR convergence outside it, based on orbits, clocks, biases, and the computed ionospheric model. 👉 Interested in this topic or want to discuss a use case?
