Abstract
Entering the European Union, the Republic of Croatia took over the INSPIRE directive called the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. A large amount of spatial data can be found through the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Geoportal. Data are available for viewing or downloading via different services, such as a web mapping service or web feature service. Although different spatial data are available, it is hard to access useful information through Geoportal. The aim of this paper is to prepare a spatial database which will gather different spatial data related to environmental engineering and present different queries and the visualization of the results. The main data used are related to protected areas in the Republic of Croatia, which register the environmental pollutants, air quality, exploitation and research fields of mineral resources, waste management, water management, and so forth. Alongside the national spatial data, the Copernicus Land monitoring service EU-DEM, the...

The "International Conference on Spatial Data Infrastructures & Spatial Information Management 2013" was held during November 13-16, in FON University, Skopje. The Annual FIG Commission 3 Workshop and Meeting was joined by 'FIG Task Force on Property and Housing' (FIG-TF-PH) and 'South-East European Research Institute on Geo-Sciences' (Geo-SEE Institute) to form the first International Conference on Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) and Spatial Information Management (SIM). The main focus of the conference is the development and use of spatial data through SDI and SIM Systems, together with relevant aspects, such as technology, criteria and standards for organizing and sharing spatial data. The realization of the European INSPIRE directive in the countries of South East Europe is an important part of the conference. The conference brought together stakeholders interested in the development and use of spatial data, focusing on the region of South-East Europe. Participants from all over the world contributed with their research and experience. Scientist, researchers, industry and data owners from public or private sector contribute to increased understanding and awareness of spatial data in the region, and to the identification of new ways of their implementation and use. Participation of professionals from all over the world, especially from European countries in the conference, shared their experiences in developing and using spatial data in their countries. Through scientific and practical solutions presented by the participants (scientific institutions-researchers, governmental and private sector organizations), and fruitful discussions and papers, methodologies and ways are put forward, which helped finding alternatives and solutions for developing spatial data in the region, and internationally, for special purposes and applications.
Key words: orthophoto map, remote sensing, digital terrain model (DTM), laser scanning, UAV system SUMMARY This work present summary of possibility advanced geodetic technologies for creating 3D digital topography maps for using in spatial and urban planning and for all other spatial related activities. Paper also give detailed review of: 1. Creating orthophoto maps and digital elevation models from high resolution satellite images; 2. Advanced methods for data acquisition using mobile LIDAR system from the air, and Mobile Lidar DynaScan for spatial forms mapping; 3. Application of SenseFly eBee UAV system for photogrammetric measurements areas covered by Civil and Environmental Engineering, Regional and Urban Planning projects. All modern acquisition technologies will be presented with their applications on realized projects in Nigeria, Qatar and Serbia. On the basis of this presentation will be to show that they provide multiple savings in time and labor resources in the realization of a 3D digital maps and models as the basis of design in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Regional and urban projects.

The article is devoted to the question of designing, creating and updating spatial databases within the framework of spatial data infrastructures (SDI). The paper deals with key aspects of the development of models of spatial-temporal data based on the study of landscapes, as well as provides the main directions for updating the geospatial repository of information based on remote sensing data of the Earth.

This paper provides an overview of the first version of the Romanian NSDI GeoPortal. Geospatial data availability, interoperability and integration remain is still a problem of the current spatial data infrastructures (SDIs). The Romanian INIS GeoPortal, an ANCPI's special IT project, has aimed to address those challenges today. This online GeoPortal application enables easy, open, seamless, and on demand discovery, access, retrieval, visualization and analysis of distributed geospatial data, information, applications and web services from any member of the NSDI INIS Council. Challenges must still be resolved, but a mature next release of the Romanian INIS GeoPortal will produce tremendous benefits for the Romanian society and our National Spatial Data Infrastructure implementation.

Spatial data is a very important resource and as such, much more attention should be paid at the local level, since they are mostly collected in local government units (municipalities and cities). In this paper, we are considering the establishment of a local spatial data infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, supported by knowledge bases and a semantic web. Here we use the Protege editor, an open source code for updating knowledge that enables: reading and saving knowledge. The idea is to point out to all future local spatial data infrastructure implementers how quickly they can get some of the necessary knowledge to make it more efficient. We could not present all the necessary knowledge here because this would overcome the needs of this work. The local spatial data infrastructure defines the basics for finding and using spatial data, and it is the basis for building a quality national spatial data infrastructure.
From the later half of the 20th Century, human population movement, land development, and rapid increase in the usage of harmful chemicals have lead to destruction of the Groundwater System. Practical environmental research is necessary to solve these issues. In order to promote interdisciplinary research among a wide range of different fields, it is important to create a unified database capable of integrating, managing and transmitting research results. In particular, techniques for constructing a database for supporting geospatial analysis have not been developed for interdisciplinary environmental and groundwater quality research, where sharing information among various fields is very important. Specially, Sharing of information quite is important about the environment that is various research areas. But the technique about construction of the spatial database and the spatial database, which supports interdisciplinary research, is not established yet. A Geographic Information Sy...

The Ria Arosa is a coastal zone located in the north-western region of Galicia-Spain. An information system was developed as a decision support tool for environment management and protection of that coastal zone. Geographical Information System (GIS) in an integrated database-model system has greatly increased the overall performance of the decision support tool. The tool developed for environmental assessment has the following elements: simulation models for detailed analysis of the hydrodynamics and water quality status of the Ria Arosa and a GIS for linking model input and output data to geographical entities, and for the visualisation and analysis of data and simulations results. This work deals with the general framework used to organise the large amount of data resulting from the continuous monitoring program and from models output.
