According to the person who maintains this blog this is the reason the notifier phones home.

"The Google Toolbar contacts our servers periodically to obtain automatic updates to the latest version, or as part of the uninstall process."

This response (because it is not an answer) doesn't mention why the notifier wants to access my DNS server addresses. It didn't just ask for access to port 53(dns port) it asked for access to my servers DNS IP addresses. My firewall pulled it up and it was denied access.

The firewall log was sent to Google asking them the same question. I am still waiting for a response.

No if this isn't information gathering I don't know what is.

They have your IP address, your servers IP addresses and their "unique application number" from your computer. And they want us to accept that they do not gather information.

And again I will iterate what so many others have posted earlier.

NOWHERE IN THEIR PRIVACY POLICY DO THEY MENTION THE INSTALLIATION OF THE EXECUTABLE FILE THEY HAVE INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER.

Perhaps Ionut Alex. Chitu can enlighten us as to why they fail to mention this?

This toolbar is spyware.
