About this audiobook

"Sarah J. Maas's CRESCENT CITY series begins with House of Earth and Blood: the story of half-Fae and half-human Bryce Quinlan as she seeks revenge in a contemporary fantasy world of magic, danger, and searing romance.

Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night-until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She'll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss's enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he's offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City's underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they'd only let it.

With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new dramatized audiobook fantasy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom-and the power of love.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

I am really enjoying this audio book. The cast does a good job and the story is entertaining without being blatant or overdone. The world is rich and the characters are not stereotypes. In fact, the book even makes fun of the stereotypes from time to time. THe main characters are believeable without being drenched in sorrow or malaise.
I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who likes this genre.

I thought the belligerent language was a little much right at the beginning. There was a lot of details thrown at the reader as well that had my mind ignoring most of it because it was all overwhelming. The storyline picked up and I started to enjoy the book about 1/2 - 3/4 in. It was enjoyable just need to get past that first bit of knowledge blast and God D*** things.

The story was okay but I hated the main female character and the voice of the main male character just killed him for me. I don’t mind the futuristic fantasy but it’s not my favorite. I would have liked it all so much more if I hadn’t hated Bryce. Plus if I hear “alphahole” one more time I’m gonna loose it. Bryce is definitely the alphahole.

Was so excited for this dramatized version, but I couldn't make it longer than 2 minutes with the AI narrating the story.

How does a book become unavailable in the middle of listening to it?!? So upsetting.
