In Canada the commercial licensing for growing Medical Marijuana is approved and regulated by the federal Government department Health Canada. This is a complicated process and consists of a 15 page application ,supporting documents and close attention plus compliance to the MMPR for Canadians. The process takes a year or more to be completed by Health Canada. Whether or not your application is approved is based on your Quality Assurance report .If you make a mistake on your application you don’t have to worry if you have submitted a Business Plan for growing commercial dried medical marijuana as a part of your application , the officials reviewing your application for approval will go by your Business Plan. I am recommending you add a Business Plan to the application package before submitting it for review. I have in this book an application for a commercial producers license in Canada , I have also included a copy of the Business Plan I submitted . These two things together will have you well on your way to completing the process to become a licensed commercial Medical Marijuana producer in Canada. Your application must be complete with all required forms and information or it will be returned denied. It is imperative you complete the full application and attach supporting documents. It is better to submit all pieces of your application together in one package instead of sending in a partial application as fragmented applications are viable to lost pieces of important documentation that Health Canada are not responsible.

Congratulations on your decision to become a business person. The first thing you need to do if you have not all ready done so is to apply to become incorporated . Canada no longer license individuals to grow medical marijuana for personal use. Your incorporation number is used in your application. It should also be clearly written on each piece of paper submitted including supporting documents. The goal is to be processed and approved so your attention to detail is critical. The federal Business Center can assist you in this process. The advice I can supply you with the incorporation process is pay attention to your timeline. If you select a business name or names it takes6-8 weeks to become incorporated because a check has to be completed to confirm no other business is using the name you selected however if you select a number then the process takes about two weeks and you will be given the next number available in sequence You will also need share certificates and a company seal for those certificates. Your application asks for breakdown of the company and copies of certificates of shares .Good luck with your first step in the process of becoming a licensed producer in Canada. Instead of going any further I am going to give you what I promised so we can go through this process together.
