Lanzarote is the smallest of the Eastern Canary Islands and captivates with 300 volcanoes, which are embedded in a uniquely fascinating, contrasting landscape.

The evergreen, rugged and almost untouched north meets a sandy island center, which in the south changes into a volcanic moon and crater landscape with fire mountains.

To protect the natural beauty of the volcanic island and its cultural heritage, Lanzarote was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO on 07.10.1993.

Thanks to the important island artist César Manrique, Lanzarote was almost spared the serious building sins that took place on the neighbouring islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria in the 1960s and 1970s. Benefit from his unique commitment to discover the many small white villages and be impressed by his unique work.

Enjoy in the north the indescribably beautiful view from the Mirador del Río to the small picturesque island La Graciosa.

In the lava tunnel of the Cuevas de los Verdes you explore the flaming, cooled heart of the earth.

and discover in the underground lake in Jameos del Agua the unique small, white albino crabs.

Drive to Haría in the valley of 1000 palm trees to stroll through the authentic handicraft market, visit the artist of authentic Canarian ceramics, or watch the last basket weaver of the island at work. Don't miss to visit the Casa Museo César Manrique, the last house of the unique island artist.

In the picturesque village of Guatiza, marvel at the grandiose variety of cacti in the cactus garden, the Jardín de Cactus.

Stroll through the small alleys of the former island capital Teguise, plunge into the grandiose hustle and bustle of the Mercadillo de Teguise, the largest weekly market on the island, or look over the entire island from the Castillo Santa Barbara with the Pirate Museum, the Museo de la Piratería.

In the Museum Lagomar, the house of Omar Sharif, experience architecture like in a fairy tale from 1001 nights and let yourself be fascinated by the Fundación César Manrique, the house with the underground lava bubbles.

Contemporary art can be seen in the ancient Castillo San José with the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo.

Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the island capital Arrecife, stroll along the main shopping street Calle Castillo y Léon, enjoy the breathtaking view from the 17th floor of the Gran Hotel Arrecife at a café, or stroll around the Charco de San Ginés with its countless small fishing boats.

Explore the past in the Airport Museum, the Aéronautico Museum, the Agricultural Museum, the El Patio Agrícola Museum, the Ethnological Museum, the Tanit Etnográfico Museum, or the Wine Museum, the El Grifo Vino Museum.

In the geographical centre of the island, with the Casa Museo Monumento al Campesino and the striking fertility statue, you can enjoy tapas typical of the island after a tour.

Cross the unique wine-growing region of La Geria on the wine route and taste the island wines in one of the many bodegas.

From Mancha Blanca with the Ermita de Los Dolores, the patron saint of the island, via the Visitor Centre, the Centro de Visitantes, where volcanic simulations are shown, you can make your way to the fire mountains, the Montañas del Fuego.

Let yourself be impressed by the incredible volcanic landscape during an impressive drive through the Timanfaya area, experience fire and water demonstrations up close and taste food from the lava grill, which is powered exclusively by geothermal energy, in the restaurant El Diablo.

On the Ruta de Camellos you swing on the back of camels with a caravan through the mountains of fire.

Transfer from Playa Blanca to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura in just 30 minutes to feel the fascination of the snow-white Caribbean beaches with crystal-clear water.

Purchase handmade sea salt in the Salinas de Janubio and be impressed by the rugged west coast with its magnificent natural spectacle in Los Hervideros.

Climb the Lago de los Clicos with the emerald green lagoon and stop for a fish meal in the picturesque fishing village of El Golfo.

Taste the delicious goat's cheese in the cheese dairies, homemade jams, mojosauces and wines of Mama Trina, or spoil your skin with Aloe Vera products of the island. Top addresses will lead you specifically to local cuisine, tapas and gastronomic events.

Start with the rental car to 5 varied routes: The great César Manrique Tour, with all the highlights of the island artist, the contrasting north, the northwest, the volcanic fiery center and the south.

On 4 selected hikes you will experience pure nature: Circle the colourful Montaña Colorada and the dark Montaña de Cuervo. Look into the highest mountain of the north, the Monte Corona and hike on the Tremesana tour through the Timanfaya National Park.

Take a day trip to the island of La Graciosa and let your soul dangle in the small bays or on the long sandy beaches, the Playas de Papagayo.
