A picture containing drawing Description automatically generatedThis book is dedicated to business owners, leaders and managers who desire to become even more effective at leading others. Being an effective leader is one of the most essential skills in business and in other environments where leadership is a key to success. However, being an effective leader remains a challenge and mystery for many.
Over the past 3 decades I have had the pleasure of training, coaching and mentoring literally thousands of leaders, managers and business owners to become even more effective at leading others. From Fortune 100 companies to small businesses and entrepreneurial startups, leadership is at the core of every successful business and worthwhile endeavor.
As the title of this book suggests, the effective leadership of others starts with being an effective leader of self. If one cannot manage their own actions and control their reactions in a way that engages, motivates and inspires others, it will be difficult to effectively lead.
The majority of leaders were not born leaders. In fact, research has shown that nearly 75% to 80% of leaders were not born leaders, but that they learned how to become more effective leaders.
Leaders influence and inspire others. The essence of outstanding leadership is the ability to influence and inspire others to be the best they can be. Although the outcomes will always vary, when effective leadership meets inspired people…higher levels of performance and subsequent results will be attained.

, it does not necessarily mean they are doing it willingly. Leadership must be earned by those who are leading and supported by those being led.
People will do what they are told by those who outrank them, but they will only follow someone they believe in. - Simon Senik
Leadership is more than philosophy. There are many leadership philosophies which have been developed and shared by the top leadership coaches in the world,
