User Interface
Cell signal: The more filled-in circles, the stronger the signal. If the device is connected to the Internet via a cellular data network, the network icon (LTE, 3G, 4G, E, or GPRS) will also appear.
Wi-Fi: Indicates the device is connected to Wi-Fi. The height indicates the strength of the signal.
Time: Displays the current time, which can be set automatically from the service provider or based on the configured time zone. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time to configure.
Location Services: Indicates an application is using Location Services.
Alarm: Indicates an alarm is set. Open the Clock app to set an alarm.
Bluetooth: Indicates whether Bluetooth is on and paired with a device (blue or white icon) or if the paired device is out of range or turned off (gray icon). If the icon does not appear, Bluetooth is not turned on.
Battery: Provides a graphical representation of the remaining battery (and optionally the percentage remaining) and charging status. The icon will turn yellow if Low Power Mode is turned on.
Home button or Touch ID sensor (not shown): The only button on the face of the device; it is used for many functions but mostly to return to the Home screen and see which apps are open. On certain devices, the Home button is also the Touch ID sensor, which allows you to use a fingerprint to unlock the device, make purchases, and turn Accessibility features on or off.
Folder: Provides a way to organize related apps. To create a folder, drag one app onto another, and add other apps as desired. Tap a folder to see its contents.
App: An individual application; tap it to run it. If your device has 3D Touch capabilities, press an app to open its Quick Actions menu.
